This September, my husband and I will have been married for eight years. In all of said years, we have never had a “grown up” bedroom. Sure, during our first year of marriage we were gifted a matching bedroom set and while it did last about 5 years before our transatlantic moves got the best of it, I had never spent much time decorating our room beyond those three matching pieces. (RIP, beautiful white farmhouse bed. You will forever be missed!)
We started off our marriage as a somewhat broke recent basic training graduate, and an even more broke recent high school graduate at the ripe ages of 21 and 18. At this point in our lives neither of us gave the slightest care on what our home looked like. When we moved to Italy, our money was spent on traveling, and then once we moved stateside we started having babies and always lived in temporary spaces while my husband finished working on his degree.
We are finally in a “long term” home while my husband continues his education and it’s a home that I absolutely love and want to throw my heart and soul into. Of course, while still on a budget and without paint or major upgrades, since we are renting. I have most of the house in order and am pretty okay with how things are at the moment, so I plan to shift my focus to our master bedroom.
I’ve finally narrowed in on my style, and I’ve got a (somewhat) clear picture on exactly what our room, as well as our entire home, to look like. I have so many visions of rich navy, rust, mustard, and olive green tones with lots of wood and natural elements. I’ve been pinning so many things to my Pinterest board that I’ve titled “Traditional Eclectic” and I feel like that’s the best way to describe the look I’m after. I want our room to feel very mature, masculine yet feminine, warm, inviting, and eclectic but curated. Does any of that make sense? I hope so!
Here are a few of my inspiration pins:

I think I’m pretty set on bedding that is majority white with touches of blue and I’ll add some warmth with yellow and rust hues. Here is everything on my current bedding shopping list:

Here’s to hoping I can pull all of this together in a timely, affordable way. I can’t wait to share this process and hopefully make my vision come to life!
Until next time,
