A verse that continues to hit me like a ton of bricks at every turn in life. (In the best way)
We moved in to my husbands grandparents home the day before thanksgiving. We (I) had a major change of heart on a complete whim about the beautiful, Instagram/Pinterest worthy house we were living in. In exactly 30 days we packed up our home that I loved dearly and moved in to this old house. There’s a lot to this story that I hope to share in length one day, maybe on my blog, because there have been so many lessons learned through this process. This season of life is honestly a little weird and I never ever would have ever even in my wildest dream imagined we’d be living in THIS house. But here we are, and honestly I kind of love it. Wood paneling and pink bathroom tiles and all.

ICYMI, we got snow in North Louisiana. Approximately four hours later, it’s all gone.
Silas spent his time building snowmen and throwing snowballs at everyone. Vivian ate all of the snow she could find.

This is hands down my favorite meal to make EVER. Okay, that is unless we’re talking Julia Child’s boeuf bourguignon, but this is definitely my most cooked meal ever. Especially because I very rarely have 6 hours to cook Julia’s famous recipe. If you like Thai food this one is AMAZING, I swear. If you’re orthodox, this is the BEST fast friendly meal you’ll ever make. If you’re keto, whole30, or vegan (minus the shrimp) this is also a meal you’re going to love! I’ve already shared the link in my bio!

I’ve been spending so much time on our home sinc

I’ve been spending so much time on our home since we moved in. Honestly, I probably do it more than I should. But the room that I’ve put the most thought in to so far has been our master bedroom. It’s not quite perfect and we’ve still got a few things to add (like an actual bed, for one 😅) but for the first time in our whole marriage we finally have a bedroom that I love and could spend all day in. Which involved scrapping all of my painting and sanding ideas and taking to Facebook market place to find a whole new set. This STUNNING hard wood Thomasville table circa 1963 popped up for a STEAL. It came with two additional leaves and two beautiful armed chairs that I have in other spots of the house. Unfortunately it was owned by smokers so it smelled AWFUL. After a million rounds of tide and vinegar baths to rid the layers of film, and finally an entire bottle of lemon essential oil to rid the smell later, we’ve got ourselves the table of my dreamsssss 😍😍😍 Also peep that $10 Facebook marketplace oil painting 😍
I’m having so much fun collecting pieces that finally feel like “me.” Oh and I’m also driving my husband crazy because I change things daily. 💁🏻‍♀️

We’ve been stuck at home for months. We’re watching innocent men die at the hands of sinners. We’re watching our cities burn. All I can seem to say is Lord have mercy, over and over and over again. All I want is to be in Church, praying for our broken world. Drawing closer to Christ, receiving his life giving body and blood.

On this day 5 years ago, we were leaving our Moroc

On this day 5 years ago, we were leaving our Moroccan Riad in the early morning hours to catch a flight back to our home in Italy. It still blows my mind that this was my life. It doesn’t even seem real. I miss traveling the world so much. My life has changed so drastically since this photo was taken. Never in a million years did I think just five years later I’d have two babies and a husband starting medical school. “Man plans his steps, but the Lord determines his course.” I’m so grateful for all of those years spent abroad, but I’m even more grateful for the life we’ve been given now, and I am so filled with excitement for our future. 💕

UPDATE: We moved! Almost a month ago now. We didn’t know how serious things were going to get it or how long we’d be in quarantine. Lesson learned, never move during a quarantine with two toddlers again. 😅 unpacking and decorating our new home has basically been my major source of “self care” but tbh it’s also pretty masochistic of me, because 5 minutes after I clean/organize a space my toddlers come behind me and destroy it. Hence the reason this photo is one for a few weeks ago and not a current one of my table covered in all sorts of misplaced sewing supplies 😅
Which leads me to my other source of happiness during this time of sadness-walking! Our new neighborhood is MASSIVE and has so many amazingly adorable streets that I could walk up and down for hours every day. How are you staying sane during these times?
