And just like that, we’re having another baby!
What’s even crazier is that it’s already been 14 weeks since this little bean has been growing. As of today, I am officially in the second trimester! It’s honestly still something I’m wrapping my head around. WE’RE HAVING A SECOND BABY! IN JUST 26 WEEKS!
It was right around Mother’s Day when I told my friend that I needed to take a test because I was definitely pregnant. A few days later I made up an excuse to go to Walmart, grabbed a handful of the $0.88 tests (these are the BEST! Seriously, don’t waste your money on the expensive ones.) and went home to find out what I had already known. A minute went by, and nothing. Two minutes went by, still nothing. I was pretty shocked because I knew that I was pregnant. Right as my timer was going to hit the 3:00 mark, that second line popped up. It was faint, but it was there. The second test did the same thing.
After finding out I immediately called my friend and honestly I don’t even remember the conversation. I think I laughed? And was stunned? Seriously, it was a blur. All I really remember was trying to come up with a clever way to tell my husband the news. But as soon as I got off the phone, I couldn’t stop nervous laughing/smiling. I went to the bathroom, grabbed the test, went to the kitchen to get my husband, and then I put the test in his hand. He was only a little shocked. He of course went straight to dad mode-thinking of finances and all of that jazz. I, of course, went straight to Pinterest and Babylist to start planning our toddler+newborn nursery and register for all the latest baby gadgets. Ya know, the important things.
To be frank, I’m TERRIFIED of having two kids under two. Heck, I’m terrified of having two kids period! But I know in my heart that that this sweet new addition was apart of the plan all along, even if we didn’t know it.
You can see below the clear feelings that big brother has towards his new friend, as he throws the baby’s photo on the floor. We’ll have to work on that. 😛
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3
What a reward this new life is to us! What a blessing it is to be chosen to carry this life.
We can’t wait to meet you, little one!
